Lincoln College’s own Jan Bowers came out on top in a three-hole playoff to win the 46th Illinois Women’s Golf Association Senior Women’s Amateur Championship.

Bowers shot an 86 Thursday to finish with a three-round total of 243, tying her for first place. Bowers won the playoff with a par on the third extra hole.

This is Bowers’ 2nd IWGA title. In 2015, she won first place in the Senior Women’s Amateur Championship, and in 2016, she placed 3rd.

Community Editor, Anna Walters, chatted with Bowers about how she first got into golf and where her career has taken her since.
